Lesson learned from the Scientific Session
First Day: Saturday 9th, February, 2008
First session: Papers were informative about the history of Military Medicine in Sudan and the services that offer , the fund and its relation with other medical services also the scale up of the services in the last twenty years.
Second session: All the papers for the hole first day were in the scope of the relationship between the HIV/AIDS epidemic and the military medicine,
-
peacekeeper and raised a lot of issues regard recruitment and screening of military personal,
-
availability of information about HIV/AIDS and screening services,
-
prevention methods,
-
promoting of condom use.
The global effort to combat the epidemic was well expressed through the UNAIDS, Senior Adviser, who gave a very special concern to the peacekeepers.
Third session: There was two parallel session:
Session I: Sharing of other countries experience in the control and prevention of HIV/AIDS and Sexual Transmitted Disease.

Session II: WHO contribution in the congress, were through an excellent session, The WHO – Speaker advocate for new method of prevention for HIV/AIDS, very nice presentation, excellent presenter and good discussion with in the session time.
Fourth session: Very interest experience in HIV testing from Zambia and HIV program in highly mobile military population in Uganda, raised a lot of comment and questions from the audience, also last paper from South Africa (benefits of exercise for HIV positive) was a new area of research.
Technical problems: All the speakers delivered their presentations with in the schedule time, expect one speaker !
Second Day: Sunday 10th, February, 2008
First session: Three papers were present clearly and informative with great concern in Military Medicine by an international team of expertise from France and Tunisia.
Second session: Very scientific papers were presented in trauma, injures, orthopedic surgery and wound infections from different countries in the region and very good, organized speakers.
Third session: Humanitarian, Disaster and Epidemic were well addressed in this session and the role of military health/ services in emergencies. Also the roles of the Military Veterinary Services in disaster management were to consider and appreciate.
Fourth session: Different experience from Sudan, Tunisia and Algeria were shared, regard Facial injury and trauma. Last paper was another veterinary contribution from South Africa with a lot of hope !
Fourth Day: Tuesday 12th, February, 2008
First session: There was two parallel session:
