MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN CISM AND ICMM

On the 14th of December 2014, Colonel Dorah-Mamby KOITA, Secretary General of the International Council for Military Sport (Conseil International du Sport Militaire) (CISM) and Major General (ret) Roger VAN HOOF, MD, Secretary General of the International Committee of Military Medicine (ICMM), signed in the Club Prince Albert, Brussels, Belgium, a Memorandum of Understanding which aims to facilitate contacts and cooperation between the two organizations.

At 11h, Major General (ret) Roger VAN HOOF, MD, welcomed the delegation of the CISM and presented his staff:
- Colonel Pierre NEIRINCKX, MD, Deputy Secretary General
- Major General Prof. (ret) Marc MORILLON, MD, Chairman of the Scientific Council
- Colonel MMA Chris DEROUBAIX, Director of Finances
- Mr Paul ZABOURI, Director of Communication
- Air Commodore (ret) Albert Jan VAN LEUSDEN, Director of International Relations
- Adjudant-Major Ivan HOSTENS, Executive Secretary.

Colonel Dorah-Mamby KOITA, Secretary General of the CISM, introduced his delegation:
- Colonel Jorge RIBEIRO (Brazil), Director of the Department for Sport Events
- Lt. Col Harald DOBMEIER (Germany), Project Director of the Word Winter Games and World Cadet Games

The primary aim of the CISM is to contribute to world peace by uniting armed forces through sports,

One of the main objectives of the ICMM is to maintain and strengthen the links between all the medical services of all Member States, to promote medical and military science in neutrality and impartiality.

Considering the common principles of both organizations, the CISM and the ICMM will invite each other to participate, as observer, in the meetings where matters of mutual interest are discussed, and will exchange the reports of these meetings.

The CISM and the ICMM agree to act in collaboration and to consult each other, for any issues and points of common interest, including those related to preventive medicine, sports medicine, the fight against doping and health.

The Signing Ceremony ended at 12h30 and was followed by a cocktail.

Then Major General (ret) Roger VAN HOOF, MD, escorted the delegation of the CISM.
