REPORT OF THE 4th COURSE OF WATER
MANAGEMENT AND SAFETY
IN CRISIS SITUATION
This course was organized by the Tunisian General Directorate of Military Health (DGSM), recommended by the International Committee of Military Medicine (ICMM), and in partnership with the French Armed Forces' Health Services (DCSSA) and with National School of Veterinary Medicine of Sidi Thabet (ENMV) - University La Manouba (ULM). It was presented in French with simultaneous translation to English.
This international session was delivered to 17 participants from Tunisia (8 participants) and 07 ICMM member countries (Algeria, Belgium, Cyprus, Germany, Oman, Palestine and Senegal). The Faculty members were eminent professors from the Val de Grace School (France), the ENMV, the National Center for Nuclear Science and Technology - ULM and the Tunisian Faculty of Medicine (FMT). - University Tunis El Manar (UTM) and by German and Tunisian veterinarians, civil and military, specialists in Water Management. Colonel Vet A. GRITLI (Tunisia) and Colonel Vet G. BORNERT (France) were the course directors and Lt-Colonel Vet M. JBELI (Tunisia) was the course coordinator. Their collaboration was commendable and they fully contributed to the success of this scientific event by giving their strong knowledge and rich experience in the field. The teaching program lasted for a week. The organizing committee and the scientific committee have elaborated a diversified program alternating conferences, educational workshops, practical activities and field visits (Naval Base of Bizerte, Unit of Military Engineering).
This course has been accredited by the National Authority of Health Accreditation (INASanté) with 22 CPDU (Continuing Professional Development Unit). Evaluation forms were given before and after each conference and at the end of the course to be analysis by the evaluation committee in order to improve the quality of the next sessions of the course. The cultural program organized on the sidelines of the course was rich and during which the participants had the opportunity to visit the city of Sidi Bou Saïd without forgetting the pleasure of tasting the delights of Tunisian gastronomy in a typically traditional setting. The organizing committee is relying on the active participation of candidates from different ICMM country members in the 5th session that will be organized in Tunisia during the 9th week of 2020 (24-29 February 2020).
