DAYS of the CENTRAL MILITARY EMERGENCY UNIVERSITY HOPITAL


The ICMM has exchanges with the Balkan Medical Union since many years. ICMM participated from 8 to 11 of October 2014 at the 33rd BALKAN MEDICAL WEEK and the DAYS of the CENTRAL MILITARY EMERGENCY UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL.

This conference was organized by the Romanian Section of the Balkan Medical Union, the Central Military Emergency University Hospital, the Romanian Society of Emergency and Trauma Surgery, and the Balkan Committee of Military Medicine. The venue of the event was the magnificent setting of the National Military Cercle of Bucharest, Romania.

The Opening ceremony was presided by H.E. the Minister of National Defence, Mr. Mircea DUSA and by H.E. the Minister of Health, Mr. Nicolae BANICIOIU. Prof. univ. Dr. Daniela BARTOS, the President of the Romanian Section Balkan Medical Union, and Colonel Dr. Florentina IONITA-RADU, Commander of the Central Military Emergency University Hospital could welcome 1000 participants. Besides the participants from the host country, also several delegations from other countries in the region (Greece, Serbia, Republic of Moldova, Bulgaria, Turkey, Albania, Cyprus) were present, but also representatives of France.

The general topic was: Interdisciplinarity and actualities in the Balkan medicine. Oral and poster presentations as well as workshops and round tables were organized on: Medical and Surgical emergencies, Traumatology, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Emergency military medicine in time of crisis, Aspects of Balkan medicine, Public health.
