MEETING OF THE INTERNATIONAL WORKING GROUP

The International Working Group had a meeting on May 11 and 12th, 2011 in Brussels, at the invitation of the Secretary-General Dr Jacques SANABRIA.

ICMM has included in its statutes the principle of International Working Group as an advisory board for the Secretary-General to prepare the decisions of the next General Assembly, which will take place next November during the next ICMM World Congress in Abuja, Nigeria.

The International Working Group elected in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2009 during the last General Assembly is composed by:
Africa: Côte d’Ivoire, South Africa and Sudan;
America: Brazil, Nicaragua, Uruguay;
Pan Arab: Bahrain, Iraq, Saudi Arabia;
Maghreb: Tunisia; Asia Pacific: Australia, China, Malaysia;
Europe: Cyprus, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Federation of Russia, Serbia, Sweden.

Could be able to attend this meeting: Pr of China, Cyprus, Germany, Malaysia, Mali, The Netherlands, Nicaragua, Norway, Federation of Russia, Saudi Arabia, Serbia and Tunisia.

The International Working Group in Brussels appointed the delegate of the Federation of Russia to submit the report of its proposals to the General Assembly during the World Congress in Abuja.

There were interesting and important discussions about the regional strategic priorities, there ICMM is now working through six Regional Working Groups, having had their Regional Congresses and Assemblies in 2010 or begin 2011 (Pan African, Pan American, Maghreb, Pan Arab, Asia Pacific and Europe).

The results of this meeting will be presented to the Delegates during the General Assembly in Abuja,
Nigeria.
