FIP GLOBAL HUMANITARIAN COMPETENCY FRAMEWORK (GbCHF)

SUPPORTING PHARMACISTS AND THE PHARMACEUTICAL WORKFORCE IN A HUMANITARIAN ARENA

ICMM endorsed a recently published document of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) entitled “FIP Global Humanitarian Competency Framework (GbHCF) — Supporting pharmacists and the pharmaceutical workforce in a humanitarian arena”.

This Global Humanitarian Competency Framework (GbHCF) is a holistic framework designed to be used for pharmacists working in the humanitarian arena internationally and was developed by an expert working group of the FIP led by Cdr Dr Grenier.

Since humanitarian and military arenas are recurrently overlapping during armed conflicts or disasters, this particular framework may foster the collaboration between pharmacists of both entities by describing the competencies required and helping to standardize the training of pharmacists in a humanitarian arena.
