WELCOMING MESSAGE
It is my great honour to welcome all delegates and participants to Malaysia as it hosts the 38th World Congress on Military Medicine (WCMM) 2009, which will be held from 4 - 9 October 2009 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center.
Ever since the beginning of this inaugural biennial event, WCMM has become a premier feature in the calendar of military medicine related activities throughout the world. Well known for its dedication in improving the standards and quality of military medicine and related technologies towards the welfare of mankind. WCMM have evolved itself into a prestigious event that transcends its original objectives.
Malaysia is continuously pursuing efforts for improvement and innovation to attain a modern and high standard of military medicine to attain the level as of similar medical institutions in developed countries. The current results from these efforts are three Military Hospitals, based in Terendak, Kinrara and Lumut Armed Forces Hospital. All of which have been built with remarkable improvements in all fields, equipments, human resources and infrastructures.
Malaysia is now developing excellent international ties in the fields of medicine, dentistry and veterinary science. This congress will further strengthen and expand these ties, allowing the international bodies to come together with comprehensive discussions to help resolve current issues related to medical problems faced in the world today.
Once again, I bid you "Selamat Datang" to Malaysia, wishing you a warmest welcome to experience the vibrant multi culture and multi racial country.
