Dear organizers,
members and guests of the congress !

In modern conditions, when the international community does its best to ensure global security the need to strengthen cooperation at both the intergovernmental level and within professional organizations that bring together representatives of European countries and the Commonwealth of Independent States undoubtedly becomes vital.

The efforts of the International Committee of Military Medicine (ICMM) – the world's only international, neutral forum where all representatives of military medical services of the member-states have the opportunity to discuss the existing experience of medical support, to exchange relevant professional information and to identify particular steps to strengthen cooperation in the field of military health care – clearly match this goal.

Considering the activity of the ICMM as extremely positive, the leadership of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation took the initiative to organize the first ICMM European Congress on Military Medicine. I hope that such international forums will become a good tradition.

Welcoming the organizers, participants and guests of the Congress, expressing confidence that all of you will not only appreciate the level of development of Russian military-medical science, but also get an opportunity to discuss important issues of organization of medical support, advanced aspects of prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases and injuries in a professional environment.
